DATA PROTECTION FOUNDATION

The Data Protection Foundation is a UK membership organization that protects consumers from online data harms. We educate our members about online dangers, fight illegal surveillance and seek redress for our members for unlawful data use.

The UK needs a voice to advocate for change and to take on powerful tech companies where they act illegally.

Our Purpose

The DPF helps its members to avoid online harms and acts to stop harmful practices. We have particular focus on abuses with health data, harmful content targeted towards vulnerable people, political targeting and illegal advertising technologies that harvest our data as we traverse the internet.

How We Work

The DPF conducts research, educates our members and takes actions to fight unlawful data practices. We commission our own research and we often work collaboratively. We provide general advice on internet dangers and specific information when we find abuse. We will lobby for change and take direct legal action against companies who exploit citizens.
